Welcome to Plymouth Panoramas, my collection of panoramic images of Plymouth, Devon, UK, and the surrounding area. Those that reside here are lucky enough to be within a stone’s throw from Devon and Cornwall’s spectacular coastlines and Dartmoor National Park.
The images shown here are each a collection of pictures ‘stitched’ together to create a panoramic image. Typically, each panorama is a collection of between 8 and 30 shots, giving a far wider field of view and high resolution image. Before resizing, each panoramic image length ranges from 1 to 5 metres.
The equipment I use consist of my Ricoh R8 10 MP digital compact camera, my first and only camera, and occasionally my gorilla tripod. I intend to experiment with a monopod and pan head from 2012 and aim for improved clarity and lack of stitching error. Ultimately I would like to employ the use of a Gigapan to create extremely high resolution images.
Rather than a photography enthusiast, I would consider myself an occasional photography hobbyist, usually combining the opportunity of good weather and cycling to find new spots to snap from.
One of my aims is to promote the City of Plymouth and I hope some of my images may help to achieve this. Further information will be made available over the coming weeks regarding the availability of jpegs, prints and commissions.
I would encourage any local businesses wanting to use the images found on this site to contact me for further information.
